2018 QGSSSA Swimming Event Information

The 2018 QGSSSA Swimming Carnival is a closed event for QGSSSA Schools and their communities. Over 700 girls will represent their schools in front of more than 3000 spectators from the ten schools at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Chandler.

Date and Times
Wednesday 7 March, 2018.
2:10pm – doors open. Strictly no admittance for teams or spectators prior to this.
3:30pm – Competition Commences (click here for a schedule of events)
7:20pm – Last races (Junior and Open Brockway Cups)
7:45pm – Presentations – we welcome past QGSSSA Athletes to assist with presentations.

Venue Information and Parking
The Brisbane Aquatic Centre is located on Tilley Road, Chandler.
Spectator entry to the pool is via the upper Aquatic Centre entrance on Sleeman Road. No admittance for spectators via the pool deck or Reception area.
Parking Due to Commonwealth Games infrastructure and preparation, parking availability onsite at the Sleeman Centre has been vastly reduced. Limited parking is available in P1, P2 and P3 for spectators, otherwise vehicles may need to park outside the venue. DO NOT park in signed bus bays or no standing areas. Please take all due care when driving around the venue and car parks, observe speed limits and be vigilant of pedestrians.
Catering offering food and beverages will be operating at various outlets around the Aquatic Centre.

QGSSSA: Celebrating 110 Years of Girls in Sport
Established in 1908, QGSSSA is the oldest school sport association in Queensland. 2018 marks the 110 Year anniversary of the Association and as such, several celebratory events will take place across the year. At Swimming, we welcome back past ‘QG’ alumni who have gone on to achieve in their chosen sporting field.
