St Peters, MBC Victorious at QGSSSA Swimming

St Peters Lutheran College have claimed a sixth Mollie Gould Aggregate Cup in a row at the recent QGSSSA Swimming Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre in front of over 3,000 spectators.

Setting 13 new records on the night, St Peters continued their dominance in the pool ahead of second placed Moreton Bay College.

St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School finished third, achieving their best aggregate result since 2010.

Moreton Bay also celebrated a sweep winning their fifth consecutive Sheena Dyason Percentage Cup, ahead of St Margaret’s and Clayfield College in third.

The historic Brockway Cups were retained by both Open and Junior St Peters’ teams, with the Junior team smashing the 10-year old record, slicing almost three seconds off their 2009 mark.

The team of Ella Ramsay, Claveria Johnson-Tiumalu, Mia Collins and Paris Burlock stopped the clock at 1:46.80, just .18 of a second behind the time set by their Open Brockway Cup counterparts in the very next race.

A total of 17 records fell on the night in front of a sea of colourful school fans who enjoyed supporting their teams amidst the music and chants.
