QGSSSA Win Gold at Interstate Challenge

QGSSSA’s Tennis team has brought home gold for the first time in the Association’s history at the 2018 Interstate Challenge Tournament.

Guided by Coach Mr Jay Pike (Brisbane SHS) and captained by St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School’s Niamh MacFarlane, the team of Lana Djokovic (Brisbane SHS), Constance Gentner (Brisbane Girls Grammar School), Lara Charles and Arabella Barnett (both Moreton Bay College) remained undefeated throughout the weekend-long event.

QGSSSA finished third overall, equaling the best result for the Association, achieved in 2017.

The QG Football team finished third and the Netball team fifth.

The 2019 Interstate Challenge will be hosted by Independent Sporting Association in Bowral, NSW, 27-29 September.

Nominations for the QGSSSA team will open in Term 1 next year for Netball, Football and Tennis. Girls must be representing their school in QG competition in their nominated sport to be eligible for selection.
