Retirement of QGSSSA Softball
The QGSSSA Board would like to formally advise that the sport of softball will be retired from the QGSSSA sporting calendar, effective from the year 2025. This decision follows careful consideration and consultation with our member schools.
Softball has been an integral part of the QGSSSA sporting landscape for 58 years, and it has brought joy and camaraderie to countless generations of students, staff, officials and families. However, it is with a heavy heart that we must now make this difficult decision due to a significant decline in participation, rendering the competition no longer sustainable.
To commemorate the legacy of softball in the QGSSSA, we look forward to a final competition season in term one of 2024, where we can come together to honour the sport, its traditions, and the enduring spirit of sportsmanship.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the success of softball in the QGSSSA, and we invite you to join us in making the final season a memorable one. We are committed to ensuring that this farewell season reflects the essence and importance of softball in our association.
