QGSSSA and IMPI Sportswear Extend Partnership as the IMPI Ignition Series Returns for 2026
The Queensland Girls’ Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with IMPI Sportswear, with the Australian sportswear brand recommitting as Presenting Partner of the IMPI Ignition Series for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Entering the third year of the partnership, the renewed agreement builds on the success of the inaugural two-year collaboration, which has transformed the QGSSSA athletics pre-season into one of Queensland’s most engaging school sporting experiences. With more than 600 students participating each week, the IMPI Ignition Series has become a highlight of the school sporting calendar, bringing together aspiring representative athletes and students participating purely for the enjoyment of being active.
Together, QGSSSA and IMPI Sportswear will continue to position the IMPI Ignition Series as Queensland’s Ultimate Girls’ Night at the Track—an innovative five-meet pre-season athletics series that celebrates participation, rewards performance and brings students from across the Association together in a vibrant environment.
The IMPI Ignition Series plays an important role in preparing athletes for selection in their school athletics teams and the prestigious QGSSSA Track & Field Championships. For many students, the series provides valuable competition experience, an opportunity to test themselves against athletes from other member schools and the chance to build confidence and early-season form.
Equally, the series provides a welcoming environment for students who simply want to be active, improve their health and wellbeing, experience a new event for the first time or enjoy an afternoon at athletics alongside friends. Whether a student is chasing a personal best, aiming for school selection or participating purely for the enjoyment of movement, every girl has a place within the IMPI Ignition Series.
Across the five meets, track and field disciplines will be showcased as the weekly IMPI Ignition Event, with age-group prizes recognising outstanding performances. By celebrating a different event each week, the series shines a spotlight across the full breadth of athletics, encouraging students to explore new disciplines while recognising excellence across both track and field. This approach ensures every discipline is celebrated, encouraging broader participation while recognising excellence across the spectrum of athletics.

“Our vision is to create an environment where girls feel inspired to challenge themselves, embrace new opportunities and discover the joy of athletics. We encourage every student to sign up, set personal goals, challenge themselves and enjoy being part of something bigger than competition.
